What is the CPC & CPM Calculator?

CPC (cost per click), CPM (cost per mille, i.e. per 1,000 impressions), and CTR (click-through rate) are the core metrics for evaluating digital ad campaigns on Google Ads, Meta Ads, and other platforms.

Enter your total ad spend along with the number of impressions and clicks the campaign generated to instantly see all three metrics — useful for comparing campaign efficiency or estimating budgets.

CPC & CPM Calculator Formula & How It Works

CPC = Ad Spend / Clicks | CPM = (Ad Spend / Impressions) × 1000 | CTR = (Clicks / Impressions) × 100
  • Ad Spend = total amount spent on the campaign
  • Impressions = number of times the ad was shown
  • Clicks = number of times the ad was clicked
  • CTR = percentage of impressions that resulted in a click

CPC measures efficiency per click, CPM measures cost per exposure regardless of clicks, and CTR measures how compelling the ad is. A low CPC with a low CTR can still mean an inefficient campaign if conversions are also low — these metrics are best read together.

Worked Examples

Spend ₹10,000, Impressions 2,00,000, Clicks 1,000

CPC = 10,000/1,000 = ₹10. CPM = (10,000/2,00,000)×1000 = ₹50. CTR = (1,000/2,00,000)×100 = 0.5%.

Spend ₹5,000, Impressions 50,000, Clicks 750

CPC = ₹6.67. CPM = ₹100. CTR = 1.5%.

CPC & CPM Calculator FAQs

What is a good CTR for ads?

It varies by platform and industry, but search ads often see 2-5% CTR while display/social ads commonly see 0.5-1.5%. Compare against your own historical campaigns and industry benchmarks rather than a fixed number.

How is CPM different from CPC?

CPM charges (or measures cost) per 1,000 impressions regardless of clicks, while CPC measures cost per click. A campaign can have a low CPM but a high CPC if its CTR is low, since fewer clicks share the same spend.

How do I estimate ad spend needed for a target number of clicks?

Multiply your expected CPC by the number of clicks you want. If your CPC is ₹8 and you want 500 clicks, budget roughly ₹4,000, adjusted for CTR variability.
